DVI (Digital Video Interface) is a specification created by the Digital Display Working Group (DDWG) to accommodate analog and digital monitors with a single connector. There are three different DVI configurations: DVI-A, designed for analog signals, DVI-D, designed for digital signals, and DVI-I (integrated), designed for both analog and digital signals. The Digital Visual Interface (DVI) connectors provide high-bandwidth performance digital-only and integrated digital/analog interface between a host device and display device in high-resolution video applications. The current specification (1.0) also calls for cabling that can provide excellent EMI/RFI interference reduction. Early digital DFP (Digital Flat Panel) connectors are referred to as "half-pitch centronics" or "Mini-D Ribbon" connectors, and were on some early DFP displays that may now need DVI connectivity. Many monitors now include a DVI connection and many video adapters include a DVI port along with, or instead of, the traditional 15-pin Video Graphics Array (VGA) port. We carry (below) the connector cabling to suit your host device to display device needs. The following meet the DVI 1.0 Specification for connectors |
