The USB Ranger® 2212 is a two port, remote powered, USB 2.0 extension solution, enabling USB 2.0 connections at up to 480Mbps over 100m/330ft of Cat 5 cabling. The Ranger 2212 delivers standard 500mA USB power over the Cat 5 extension link to the two port remote hub, eliminating the need to locate the remote USB devices near an AC power outlet and greatly increasing the ease of deployment for USB extension in industrial, medical, commercial and other applications.

The USB Ranger 2212, and the Ranger 2200 family of products are powered by ExtremeUSB®, enabled by Icron’s LionsGate™ USB Extension ASIC. ExtremeUSB® provides true USB 2.0 extension at up to 480Mbps over a variety of media, without the need of additional software drivers. Description

The USB Rover 1650/2650 is designed for end user applications. It provides all the flexibility of extended range USB in a ready-to-use package. The USB Rover 2650 is optimized for applications where two devices, such as a keyboard and mouse, must be operated remotely. The USB Rover 1650 provides support for a single remote device or hub.

USB Rover products operate over standard Category 5 UTP cable (the same wiring used in Ethernet). The technology behind the product requires no additional software for either the computer or the target devices.

USB Rover products are composed of two separate units: the Local Extender (LEX) and the Remote Extender (REX). Conventional USB cables are used to connect the LEX unit to the host computer and to connect the remote USB device to the REX unit. Category 5 UTP cabling is used to connect the LEX and REX units over a distance of up to 50 meters.
The USB Rover 1650/2650 is powered from USB and delivers enough power at the remote unit to drive most USB devices.
