ORiNOCO 802.11a/b/g Combo Client PC Card delivers the utmost in mobile convenience, allowing secure connections to  802.11a, 802.11b, and 802.11g Wireless LAN networks from a single card.  The ComboCard provides wireless networking data rates of up to 54 Mbps in 802.11 mode and 108 Mbps in Proxim’s 2X mode.  The ComboCard provides throughput five to ten times higher than 802.11b-only products and supports bandwidth-intensive applications.  The ORiNOCO ComboCard provides multiple security levels, with encryption up to 152-bit WEP and 802.1x authentication for enterprise-class security.  The 11a/b/g ComboCard protects your network investment by allowing you to deploy and simultaneously support new higher speed 802.11a and g infrastructure within legacy 802.11b networks.  The ComboCard is shipped hardware-ready for upgrade to Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA) security.

ORiNOCO 11b PCI Adapter
The ORiNOCO 11b PCI Adapter simply sits in a free PCI slot. Once locked on the board, the 11b PCI Adapter forms a Wireless Network Interface Card (NIC). The 11b PCI Adapter extends wireless LAN access to desktop PCs and is compatible with all IEEE 802.11b compliant wireless LAN systems.

The ORiNOCO 11b PCI Adapter provides wireless LAN access for desktop computers equipped with an available PCI slot. The ORiNOCO 11b PCI Adapter is controlled single driver that makes it easy to install and easy to use. The ORiNOCO 11b PCI is supplied with an ORiNOCO PCMCIA Card.
Bus mastering guarantees optimal PCI Bus performance
The 11b PCI Adapter implements a DMA controller (Direct Memory Access) to optimize data transfer between computer memory and the 11b PCI Adapter. This implementation of Bus Mastering reduces PCI Busload from approximately 30% to approximately 6%.
“Wake on LAN” support
“Wake on LAN,” a desktop PC remote management feature, is supported. The 11b PCI Adapter can be set to constantly monitor the wireless LAN even when the desktop PC is switched off. The PC will boot up to enable remote management when the 11b PCI Adapter receives a “Magic Packet.”
PC Card lock
The 11b PCI Adapter is equipped with a lock to prevent the removal of the PC Card after installation, making it difficult to remove the PC Card without first having to open the PC.

ORiNOCO Active Ethernet (PoE)
Active Ethernet is a feature of the ORiNOCO product line that provides Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) capabilities for the entire ORiNOCO family of enterprise, outdoor, and public area wireless networking equipment, including Access Points, Access Servers, and Outdoor Routers.

Active Ethernet eliminates the need for AC-to-DC converters and 110/220 VAC cabling installation.  With Active Ethernet, system installers need to run only a single Ethernet cable instead of separate power and data cables to each Access Point base station, saving up to $1,000 per installation.
    
The Active Ethernet power injector device is available in three models: one that can handle one ORiNOCO infrastructure unit, one for six units and one for twelve units.  The 12-port injector fits in a 19 inch rack slot; the 6-port and the 1-port injectors are free standing units.
